For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength Philippians Ch.4:13
Young people learn iCan with God
Around 750 people attended this year's Firm Foundations - with many young people taking steps of faith.
The festival, organised jointly by Boys' Brigade and Girls' Brigade England & Wales, took place over the spring bank holiday weekend at Felden Lodge, Hemel Hempstead.
The theme for the event was iCan, based on Philippians Ch.4:13, and so festival-goers were learning about how they can do everything through Christ, who gives us strength.
It was an action-packed weekend of worship, seminars, entertainments and sporting activities, as well as the chance to relax and catch up with friends.
'It was a great weekend full of fun and faith discovery,' says Eric Hudson, on behalf of the Festival Planning Team. 'The atmosphere around Felden was brilliant and it was challenging yet inspiring to see so many young people make their first steps in faith.'
BB officer Matt Legg and singer/songwriter/trustee of GB Ministries Shell Perris hosted V1, joined by BB/GB band KJC and V2 was hosted by Phil Knox, Lorne Campbell and Mark Greenwood, who were supported by the Ben Marshall Band.
Christian bands Golddigger, NlighteN, The Fifth Revelation and Brokenfor wowed the crowds over the course of the weekend.
Run by GB, the Oasis zone was also hugely popular. It offered a place to chill out and be yourself, hair straightening, nail painting and much, much more.
Comments from the weekend:
'The young people and not so young people (!) that we brought with us this year had a great time!'
