FF 2004 - 'Actuate'

Actuate (to bring about change) was the theme of this year’s festival and the action certainly lived up to that.
Each morning, praise was led by the Firm Foundations Worship Team consisting of young people from the BB and GB who are keen to share their passion for God and faith in Jesus Christ. Bristol City evangelist Philip Janadu led young people (and those not so young) on a progressive journey of understanding and challenge around the festival theme.
In the evening, Trish Morgan and her band led worship and speakers John Archer, Jon Stannard and Roy Crowne encouraged participants to get active with God. On the Monday afternoon, Baroness Richardson of Calow, National President of The Girls’ Brigade concluded the festival with communion based around “Go on and Actuate”.
As well as worship there was a full programme of activities including football, archery, It’s a Knockout and much more. There was opportunity for Bible study and meditation and a variety of workshops to cater for all needs. The Listening Post and Outreach workers provided the time and space for people to talk. After the evening concerts by “Quench” and “Leaph” the Dance Zone came to life and for those a little less energetic, The Late Shift in the Cornerstones marquee allowed a wind down from a hectic day. The late video attracted a large audience who finally staggered back to their tents at 2.30am.
It was a privilege to be part of Firm Foundations 2004. Thanks to all those, staff and volunteers from BB and GB who enable it to happen so smoothly. Many young people made commitments beginning their Christian journey whilst for others it was a time of reaffirmation. Firm Foundations changes lives and it is wonderful to see God using the Brigades so powerfully. Will you be part of Firm Foundations 2005?
